Membership

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the history of the American Civil War. There are no dues; all programs are open to the general public, except as may be necessary to cover the expenses of speakers. Regular members are encouraged to support the Round Table by subscribing to our newsletter, The General Orders, at $20 per year. Editor Dave Jordan encourages contributions to the newsletter: articles about events, ancestors, research projects, book reviews, etc. Contact him at tinajordan@earthlink.net.

Programs

Regular meetings of the KCWRT are held on the third Friday of each month, September through May, at the Westwood Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo unless otherwise noted. Refreshments are served at 7:00, and programs begin at 7:30.

Enigma of White Hall : Cassius Marcellus Clay by Jerry H. Maxwell of Commerce Township, Michigan - Past President, Michigan Regimental Civil War Round Table.
No, not the boxer, but the Kentucky abolitionist who freed his slaves before the war - including Muhammad Ali's ancestor.

Story of the Buchanan, Michigan nurse and her war-time experiences.

I Dove on the U.S.S. Monitor by Robert E. Zaworski, M.D. , of Atlanta, Georgia, Past President, Atlanta Civil War Round Table
Dr. Zaworski was the only civilian diver on the expedition. His presentation includes underwater videotape of the wreck site.

Patrick R. Cleburne and the Army of Tennessee by Jerry L. Russell of Little Rock, Arkansas; National Chairman, Civil War Round Table Associates, nationally known author, director of HERITAGEPAC - a federally registered political action committee devoted to the advocacy of battlefield preservation, the Confederate Historical Institute, and the Order of the Indian Wars.
